I hope you both have a great Vacation in Cannes, but I do hope you have a little time for photography.
Enjoy Monaco, but forget the wide open beaches of Nice/Cannes- for shooting take a cab , bus or train to St Tropez.
Once there, walk around the Port (which isn’t that big)to the far side, go under a small arch to a Cemetery. Here you should find a small track to follow. You will find ample little secluded beach enclaves to shoot without disturbance. I’ve seen bathers sunbathing on beaches fully naked. If you keep walking, you’ll reach a Peninsula where you’ll experience beautiful long beaches around the bay. It’s not a straight formal beach like you have in L.A, but it has rocks, dunes & character!
