The hills recall West Texas but I think it’s CA? Haven’t a clue which part? It is a huge State!

What you are looking at is start of Death Valley outside Baker California. It is one large hot desert that once was a part of the pacific ocean.

Retreated at end of last interglacial i imagine about 10,000 years ago? Love to go there sometime.
