On the subject of Horror, last night I watched ‘Slenderman’, one of the strangest, yet authentically terrifying movies I’ve seen in terms of suspense. I don’t know if it did well at the movies but I’d say it was a fairly low budget movie on similar vein to Blair Witch which I didn’t particularly like.
Slenderman’s actors did a good job showing a surreal side to American Horror similar to Lugosi and the silents like Karloff in the original ‘Mummy’ black n white.
Slenderman flowed well, very watchable & I think showed a sinister side to America, possibly hinting the young cast were under the influence of amphetamines, which is not unusual since it’s now legal in Washington State & Colorado!
I’d rather watch more cottage movies like Slenderman than wait for all the anti climatic hype in a Hollywood Mega Movie.
It left me more unsettled than the last time I saw Cameron’s ugly Wife!
