It’s like in the early 80s ‘access TV’ became a catch phrase in the UK. The idea of access TV on Channel 4 was to make TV a more social medium where the average person can communicate. It didn’t really get off the ground apart from a couple of shows and the Internet seems to be going the same way- by the rich, of the rich & for the benefit of business corporations.
